Babies' Actions Reveal Emotions (04:31)

A baby's temperament affects interaction with the caregiver, and the emotions of the caregiver also affect the baby. Temperamental differences in babies can show at three to six months.

Crying and Fear (03:40)

Crying is the expression of frustration and anger from six to twelve months old. Moods develop at one to two years old. Toddlers develop security through routines and rituals.

Temper Tantrums (04:07)

Saying "no" helps the child build self-esteem through control. A temper tantrum is a normal way for a child to display control. Anger means a toddler wants limits.

Emotional Education (04:03)

Four and five-year-olds use language to solve problems and become less selfish. Temperament differences in five to six-year-olds include physical and verbal attacks, and crying outbursts.
